About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group. EFT provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This Senior Data Engineer will help drive solution design and implementation aligned to critical regulatory requirements. The nature of this work will include new data sourcing, existing data sourcing adjustments, conformance and curation modifications, and defect management to adapt with the changing regulatory requirements.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives within Technology and contribute to large scale data processing framework initiatives related to enterprise strategy deliverables
  • Build and maintain optimized and highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting
  • Review and analyze moderately complex business, operational or technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
  • Oversee the data integration work, including developing a data model, maintaining a data warehouse and analytics environment, and writing scripts for data integration and analysis
  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead teams to meet data engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of data information policies, procedures and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with colleagues and managers to resolve data engineering issues and achieve strategic goals

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Data Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4 years experience in MS SQL Server database programming, with emphasis on ETL Procedure, SSIS, SQL Query/Store Procedures, Data Modeling, Business Objects

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in development in the cloud environment and basic architecture best practices
  • Experience writing unit and integration test cases
  • Robust knowledge and understanding of relational database design and implementation
  • Ability to refactor existing code to improve the system performance and ease of system maintenance.
  • Experience building integrations between independent systems, services and data sources
  • Experience with Agile and/or Team Foundation Server, Confluence, Jira is a plus
