Required Skills & Qualifications
• Contribute and improve best practices on your team, aligning to industry standards
• Incrementally breakdown and manage work for yourself and at times the team to complete our highest priority projects
• Recognize and demonstrate the ability to see how day to day work maps to the big picture company goals and adapt work accordingly
• Partner with stakeholders for requirements and prioritization
• Establish and document standards and procedures for team

• Design, build and maintain robust high quality data pipelines at a team level

• Participate in on-call support and improve data operations
• Work in close partnership with other Engineering teams, including Data Science, & cross-functional teams, such as Product Engineering
* Perform code reviews and ensure quality of deliverables
Preferred Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent practical experience
• Data Engineering | 5+ years of designing & developing data pipelines or real-time applications at enterprise scale; specifically Python and/or Scala.
• Big Data Ecosystem | 5+ years of hands-on, experience with tools and platforms like Spark Streaming, EMR, Kafka.
• Cloud | 5+ years of experience in developing Big Data applications in the cloud, preferably AWS.
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience in data engineering fundamentals (data modeling, relational database concepts and ETL)
• Experience with data analysis using SQL
• Proficient in at least one programming language commonly used within Data Engineering, such as Python, Scala, or Java.
• Proficient understanding of Spark and ability to write, debug and optimize Spark code.
• Proficient understanding of various file formats and compression techniques.
• Experience with any of data pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow or similar frameworks.
• Experience with source code management systems such as Github and developing CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins for data.
